Job summary

Lubbock Heart & Surgical Hospital is seeking a dedicated Monitor Technologist to join our team in Lubbock, TX. You will monitor telemetry patients, obtain and interpret rhythm strips, and alert staff to EKG changes and malignant rhythms.

The role requires a basic EKG course and at least one year of cardiac monitor interpretation experience, along with strong communication and file-management skills. Shift is PRN days, 7a-7p, with flexible LHSH incentives.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary.
• Basic EKG course and 1 year of cardiac monitor interpretation experience, including paced rhythms.
• Know how to manage electronic files.

Responsibilities

• Monitor cardiac rhythms and interpret rhythm strips for telemetry patients.
• Notify nursing/physician staff of EKG changes and lethal/malignant rhythms.
• Record telemetry strips with lead placement, ventricular/atrial rates, PR, QRS, ST, T-wave measurements.
• Deliver completed rhythm interpretations to the appropriate patient care area each shift.
• Maintain clear communication about telemetry transmission quality and patient activity during transport, admission, and discharge.
