Job summary

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of cardiac rhythms and telemetry setup.
• Experience in hospital cardiac surveillance or completion of an approved EKG class.
• Ability to educate patients and families about telemetry.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, interpret, and document cardiac rhythms and telemetry findings.
• Respond appropriately to telemetry alarms and follow arrhythmia management protocols.
• Ensure telemetry monitoring equipment is correctly applied, functioning properly, and maintained in a clean and safe condition.
• Troubleshoot basic equipment issues and elevate unresolved problems for repair.
• Educate patients, families, and staff on telemetry monitoring and cardiac diagnostic equipment.
• Precept and support new telemetry technicians as needed.
• Document procedures, enter test results, and prepare required reports.
• Communicate patient concerns, equipment issues, and variances to nursing leadership.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to promote patient safety and quality outcomes.
• Adhere to organizational policies, regulatory standards, HIPAA requirements, safety practices, and compliance programs.
• Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, teamwork, and excellent customer service while supporting the organization's mission and values.
