Job summary

Fairview Health Services seeks a Nursing Assistant at Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina, MN. The role involves 60 hours per two weeks on the Day shift, 12-hour shifts, with every third weekend, and benefits will be provided.

The Nursing Assistant supports the professional nurse in patient care, prepares rooms, transports patients, and helps with admissions, transfers and discharges in a fast-paced cardiac telemetry unit.

Qualifications

• BLS for Healthcare Providers certification required or able to obtain upon completion of OnTrack program.
• Six months of recent direct care experience in a long term, home care or acute care setting.
• Active enrollment in an LPN, RN or Nurse Practitioner program or MN Nursing Assistant Registry eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Assist the professional nurse in delivering patient care and transporting patients and equipment.
• Set up and maintain patient rooms and stock supplies; document tasks performed.
• Monitor patient condition, record vital signs, and report unusual findings to the RN.
• Assist with admissions, transfers, discharges and patient orientation.
