Job summary

Fairview Health Services is seeking a Nursing Assistant to join the St. John’s Hospital team in Maplewood, MN. The position is 64 hours per two weeks on the Day/Evening shift, with 8-hour shifts and every other weekend.

This Heart Care unit (33 beds) offers a fast-paced environment with patients ranging from chest pain evaluation to recovery post-cardiac procedures, under RN supervision. The unit emphasizes teamwork and patient-centered care, using electronic health records to document progress.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required or obtainable after OnTrack program.
• Ability to communicate clearly with patients, families and health care team.
• Capable of teamwork in a fast-paced hospital unit.
• Experience documenting care in electronic health records.

Responsibilities

• Perform vital sign checks, basic patient care tasks, and report outcomes to the RN.
• Assist with activities of daily living and patient comfort measures.
• Maintain a clean, safe patient environment on the Heart Care unit.
• Accurately document patient information in the EHR per standards.
• Follow all relevant laws, policies, and procedures."
• Perform other duties as assigned by the RN or unit leadership.
