UTMB Health is seeking a Telemetry Monitoring Technician to provide advanced technical skills across the telemetry system. The role involves admitting, transferring, and discharging patients, adjusting alarms, reviewing rhythm trends, and maintaining documentation and equipment with rigorous attention to safety and infection control.

You will interpret EKG rhythms, recognize significant events, and communicate findings promptly to the responsible RN.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of EMT–Paramedic program or related allied health sciences program.
• At least 1 year related healthcare experience.
• Passing score of 80% or higher on UTMB arrhythmia test.

Responsabilités

• Operate and troubleshoot telemetry monitoring system and admit/transfer/discharge patients.
• Adjust alarms and review trends and events; document rhythm strips as required.
• Maintain monitors, logbooks, and equipment; ensure all monitors accounted for at shift end.
• Provide continuous surveillance and analysis of ECG rhythms and notify RN of significant changes.
• Participate in orientation and teaching of nursing staff and students related to monitoring equipment.
• Ensure safe environment and adherence to infection control throughout duties.
