Job summary

STHS McAllen is seeking a Monitor Technician to oversee cardiac telemetry readings from a centralized unit. You will work with a wireless network, maintaining proficiency and promptly reporting any abnormalities. The role requires flexibility to work every other weekend and on holidays, including overtime and on-call status.

AHA-compliant BLS certification and initial dysrhythmia training are required. High School diploma or GED is required, with six months to one year of prior experience

Qualifications

• Six months to one year of previous telemetry monitoring experience preferred.
• Must complete dysrhythmia course prior to orientation.
• BLS certification must be current and in accordance with AHA guidelines.
• Basic computer skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patients' cardiac telemetry readings from a centralized location via wireless network.
• Maintain performance skills and ensure timely reporting of any abnormal findings.
• Routinely work every other weekend, holidays, overtime, and on-call/call-back status.
