Job summary

Vanderbilt Health in Nashville seeks an experienced Surgical Technologist to support cardiac surgery teams. You will prepare and maintain sterile fields, pass instruments, and assist surgeons during all phases of procedures. Requires certs and scrub experience in cardiac cases, with strong asepsis and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Cardiac scrub experience required.
• Strong knowledge of asepsis and sterile technique.
• Ability to assist surgeons and nursing staff during perioperative care.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates patient care by assisting the surgeon before, during and after surgical procedures.
• Plans, sets up, performs and cleans up the assigned surgical procedure as a circulator and scrub tech.
• Demonstrates knowledge of and applies the Principles of Asepsis in creating and maintaining the sterile field.
• Performs instrument and sponge counts according to policy.
