Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals, Inc. is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Day shift on the Surgical Cardiac Team in the Operating Room. Cardiac experience is required to deliver high-quality perioperative care for our diverse patient population.

The role emphasizes partnership with patients and families, evidence-based practice, and collaboration with an interprofessional team to ensure safe, compassionate, and coordinated care. Strong communication and clinical skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Specialized DiplomaGraduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
• Knowledge of Patient-and Family-Centered Practice and collaboration with patients/families.
• Cultural awareness and ability to connect with diverse backgrounds.
• Effective communication to transmit/interpret ideas with patients and families.
• Knowledge of patient assessment, care planning, and nursing diagnoses.
• Understanding of medication administration and post-discharge care.
• Discharge planning and follow-up coordination.

Responsibilities

• Interact with patients, families, and staff, applying Jefferson values and evidence-based practice.
• Identify learning needs with patients and families; provide education.
• Use information systems to communicate, manage knowledge, and monitor outcomes.
• Collaborate within nursing and inter-professional teams to ensure safe, coordinated care.
• Support learning and professional growth; act as preceptor to staff.
• Participate in safety, quality improvement activities and committees.
