Job summary

AP Health in the greater Nashville area is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant to join our surgical team. The role centers on serving as a Surgical First Assistant in the OR, with responsibilities in endoscopic vein harvesting, patient positioning, and perioperative care.

Candidates should have 2+ years as a surgical first assist, NCCPA board certification, TN license or active first assist credential, and BLS/ACLS.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience functioning as a surgical first assist.
• Experience taking independent call.
• Board certified by NCCPA and active TN license or first assist certification.

Responsibilities

• Functions as a Surgical First Assistant in the Operating Room.
• Positions and drapes the patient under the direction of the surgeon.
• Endoscopic Vein Harvesting (EVH).
• Perform comprehensive histories and physical examinations.
• Daily inpatient rounds in ICU and stepdown units.
• Rotating weekend and night CVOR coverage.
