Job summary

Baystate Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Cardiac Surgery Practice in Springfield, MA. This full-time role involves caring for patients undergoing cardiac surgical evaluation, treatment, and follow-up in a busy outpatient setting.

The RN will assess and plan patient care, perform triage, coordinate with physicians and care teams, and educate patients to optimize outcomes across the surgical journey.

Qualifications

• Massachusetts RN license required.
• Current AHA BLS/CPR certification required.
• 2+ years nursing experience preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills essential.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced ambulatory environment.

Responsibilities

• Assess, develop, and implement care plans for cardio surgery outpatients.
• Perform triage with strong clinical assessment and critical thinking.
• Coordinate care with physicians, APPs, and care teams.
• Establish patient-centered care plans and adjust priorities.
• Educate and support patients on health, wellness, and disease management.
• Conduct point-of-care testing and quality assurance as needed.
• Build trusting relationships with patients and families.
