Job summary

Danbury Hospital in Danbury, CT is seeking a full-time Cardiac Surgery Physician Assistant for ICU and step-down coverage, OR and some outpatient staffing in a 24/7 service. The team includes two cardiac surgeons and five PAs, handling open heart, CABG, valve, MIS and TAVR cases.

Ideal candidates hold PA certification with CT license, DEA, and ACLS/BLS. Experience in CTICU and cardiac surgery OR is preferred; strong communication skills are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Physician Assistant training program.
• CT State PA license, CT Controlled Substance Registration, and Federal DEA.
• Previous experience in Cardiothoracic ICU.
• Previous experience in Cardiac Surgery OR preferable but not required.
• Board certification.
• ACLS & BLS certification.
• Must maintain 50 CME's over two years.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide ICU and step-down coverage, OR and some outpatient office staffing for a 24/7 service.
• Collaborate with two Cardiac surgeons and a large PA team to manage open heart, CABG, valve, MIS and TAVR cases.
• Participate in patient management and perioperative care in CTICU and OR settings.
