Job summary

Northwell Health is seeking a Full-time Cardiac Surgery Advanced Practitioner (PA/NP) in Danbury, Connecticut. Qualifications

Position Overview

Full‑time Cardiac Surgery Advanced Practitioner (PA/NP) – Danbury, Connecticut (60 miles from New York). Sign‑on bonus/retention of $40,000K.

The position offers the unique opportunity to work across multiple clinical settings based on candidate preference, including the operating room, ICU/inpatient floor, and outpatient office. The ideal candidate is a board‑certified physician assistant or nurse practitioner, RNFA certified, with previous experience in Cardiac Surgery OR and/or CTICU patient management and procedures. Flexible scheduling, day and night shift coverage, is offered. The department has two Cardiac surgeons and five Cardiac Surgery PAs, expanding with a growing case volume that includes traditional open heart, CABG, valve, MIS, and TAVR.

Job Requirements

• Graduate of an approved Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) training program
• CT State PA/NP license, State of CT Controlled Substance Registration, and Federal DEA registration
• Previous experience in Cardiothoracic ICU preferable but not required
• Previous experience in Cardiac Surgery OR (vein harvest, first assist) preferable but not required
• Board certification
• ACLS & BLS certification
• Must maintain 50 CME credits over two years
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Salary

$170,000 – $210,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
