Job summary

UAB Medicine’s 7 North Cardiology Stepdown and Intermediate Care Unit in Alabama is seeking an experienced registered nurse to provide direct patient care on a 23-bed unit caring for post-procedural cardiac patients and high-risk telemetry patients.

The role requires BLS within 1 month of hire and an Alabama-licensed RN. You're expected to participate in discharge planning, coordinate care across disciplines, and adhere to policies, procedures, and evidence-based protocols.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
• Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing required prior to hire date.
• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing and required professional licensure at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
• Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders. Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
