Job summary

Vanderbilt University Medical Center’s 5S Cardiac Stepdown unit is seeking a RN Shift Leader for the night shift (7p–7a) with a minimum of four weekend shifts every six weeks. The role focuses on leadership, coordinating care on a 24-bed unit serving adults after complex cardiac surgery, and mentoring bedside nurses.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in Tennessee
• 1 year relevant nursing experience
• Graduate of an approved nursing program
• Cardiology stepdown experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Collaborates in establishing the plan of care and coordinates care delivery.
• Analyzes patient information to determine nursing diagnoses.
• Evaluates progress and applies interventions to achieve outcomes.
• Promotes health and a safe environment.
• Supports leadership and team coordination on 5 South unit
