Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a Registered Nurse for the 7 North Stepdown and 7 North Intermediate Care Units. The role supports patients recovering from structural cardiac procedures and high-risk cardiac conditions, requiring telemetry, medication management and close monitoring.

This weekend night shift position provides specialized care in a 23-bed stepdown and an 8-bed intermediate unit, with a focus on safe discharges and multidisciplinary collaboration in a renowned Alabama health system.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider within 1 month (30 days) of hire date or transfer date.
• Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing before hire date or transfer date.

Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor patient care plans.
• Serve as primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with the healthcare team.
