Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a Registered Nurse for full-time day and night shifts in Birmingham, AL. The position involves delivering comprehensive nursing care, utilizing the AACN Synergy model, and collaborating with the health care team.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited nursing program, RN licensure in Alabama or eligibility, and BLS certification, with ACLS/PALS potentially required depending on unit. UAB offers robust benefits and a PSLF-eligible employer status.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Nursing program required.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
• Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required.
• Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required or should be obtained within 30 days of employment. ACLS and/or PALS may be required depending on unit.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to care for and counsel patients and families.
• Delegate, coordinate and manage all aspects of nursing care.
• Collaborate with physicians, psychologists, podiatrist and/or dentist to deliver patient care.
• Provide data gathering, assessment, nursing judgment, intervention and evaluation to improve health outcomes.
