Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Details

Location: Memphis, Tennessee (Zip: 38104) – Tennessee nursing jobs

Healthcare Setting: Cardiac Stepdown / Medical Surgical Overflow Unit

Assignment Length: 13-week travel nursing contract

Start Dates: 10/6/2025 or 10/20/2025

Shift: Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (07:00 - 19:00); 36 or 48 hours per week (schedule may vary)

Patient Ratio: 1:6/7

Weekend and On-Call: Weekend shifts and on-call as needed

Orientation: 16 hours

Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,780 - $1,910

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee or compact state

Minimum 2 years of recent cardiac stepdown nursing experience in a large hospital or acute care setting

At least 1 completed previous travel nurse assignment

Level I Trauma Center experience required

Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (American Heart Association preferred)

Clinical skills: Telemetry, IV start proficiency

Cerner electronic charting experience preferred

Must reside at least 100 miles from facility (no local travelers)

Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)

Submit all time-off requests with application

First-time travel nurses not accepted

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients requiring cardiac stepdown monitoring and intervention

Monitor and assess cardiac, pulmonary, and complex medical conditions

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Therapy, and Pharmacy

Float between similar units and campuses within 20 miles as needed

Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction

Maintain accurate documentation using telemetry and bedside monitoring equipment

Support rapid response teams and participate in continuous care initiatives
