Beacon Health System is hiring a full-time Day Shift Unit Secretary/Assistant for the Progressive Care - Cardiac Step-Down department at Elkhart General Hospital in Elkhart, IN.

The role supports daily unit operations, patient care activities under licensed staff, and administrative duties. Ideal candidates have strong communication and a patient-focused approach, with CPR training within the first few months of hire.

Qualifications

• Must be a minimum of 17 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Nurse Assistant certification preferred.
• Must obtain Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS/CPR) within 3 months of hire and maintain certification.

Responsibilities

• Maintain patient privacy and protect confidential information.
• Clerical duties and unit maintenance.
• Manage phone calls and coordinate supplies.
• Document patient measurements and vital signs.
• Assist with patient mobility and transportation.
• Support 1:1 staffing as needed.
• Ensure safe patient environment and nourishment delivery.
• Document all patient care accurately.
