Beacon Health System is hiring a full-time day shift Nursing Assistant in the Progressive Care department at Elkhart General Hospital in Elkhart, IN. The role supports patients with daily living activities and collaborates with the RN to ensure safe, compassionate care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of 17 years of age.
• Previous patient care experience preferred.
• A Nurse Assistant certification is preferred.
• Must obtain Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS/CPR) within 3 months of hire and maintain certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living when delegated by RN.
• Keeps the nurse up to date on any changes in patient information.
• Exhibits exceptional patient experience by upholding Beacon values of respect, trust integrity and compassion.
• Functions within the relationship-based care nursing model.
• Reports to the Director.
• Completes other job-related duties and projects as assigned.
• Receives patient feedback via call backs, leader rounds, or surveys.
• Exhibits self-care by balancing workload and scheduling breaks.
• Relays accurate pertinent information to nurse, physicians, director, and other departments in a timely manner.
• Responds promptly to patient, family and staff needs.

Education
