Job summary

Doctors Hospital of Augusta, part of HCA Healthcare, seeks a Cardiac Sonographer PRN to perform 2D/M-Mode, Doppler and stress echocardiograms in the Echo Lab. You will perform transesophageal studies and related reports, transport patients, and assist with EKGs and stress testing as needed.

The role requires graduation from an accredited cardiovascular sonography program and current BLS certification; registration as Cardiac Sonographer or DM Sonographer is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of cardiovascular sonography.
• A current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider is required.
• Registered Cardiac Sonographer, or Diagnostic Medical Sonographer.

Responsibilities

• Perform 2D/M-Mode, Doppler, Stress Echocardiograms.
• Perform Transesophageal Echocardiograms, including processing all orders and reports.
• Transport the patient to and from the department for testing as needed.
• Assist in performing other duties in the diagnostic cardiology department (EKG, Holter Monitoring, Stress Testing).
• Keep accurate records for cleaning and maintaining the equipment.

Job Summary and Qualifications

As anEcho Cardiographer - Cardiac Sonographer(Echo Tech) you will be responsible for the direct and indirect care of patients to ensure that the quality of the studies adhere to the standards set forth by leadership. You will follow the standard format obtaining views, measurements and calculations in determining valve area and flow velocity, while maintaining equipment including cleaning and prepping for patient use. The Echo Tech will perform other functions as determined by the Supervisor in expediting the care of the patient.
