Job summary

Doctors Hospital of Augusta seeks an Echo Cardiographer to perform echocardiograms and related non-invasive tests in a busy cardiovascular department. The role includes vascular work, transesophageal echo and pacemaker analysis, with emphasis on accuracy and coordination of procedures for diagnostic quality.

Ideal candidates hold an ultrasound degree, 3–5 years of Cardiac Sonography experience, and certification as either a Cardiac or Diagnostic Medical Sonographer.

Qualifications

  • Degree in ultrasound technology (Cardiac sonography preferred).
  • 3–5 years experience as a Cardiac Sonographer.
  • Certification as a Registered Cardiac Sonographer or Diagnostic Medical Sonographer.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and perform echocardiography procedures including echocardiograms, vascular work, transesophageal echo, pacemaker analysis and exercise echo.
  • Acquire two‑dimensional ultrasonic recordings for cardiac diagnosis.
  • Assist with stress testing and other non-invasive cardio diagnostics as needed.
  • Lead ongoing accreditation efforts (ICAEL or others) and participate in performance improvement activities.
  • Support department compliance and education of staff as indicated.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Produces recordings of electromotive in patients heart muscle, using electrocardiograph (ECG), to provide date for diagnosis of heart ailments.Ultrasound/Echocardiography: Population Served(All Ages)Core competencies will be assessed primarily on the following patient population(s) served: Cardiac/cardiovascular, anddiseases including but not limited to: Cardiac valve(s) stenosis/insufficiency, carotid stenosis,and other cardiac conditions.Will leadthe process forinitialand ongoing accreditations such as ICAEL or othersociety.Alsowill be the department resource forongoing compliance monitoring. The goal will bethe obtainandmaintainacceptable standards for accreditation and educate other staff asindicatedon performance improvement opportunities and compliance.

What you will do in this role:
  • You will be responsible for the accurate performance and coordination of various procedures in the Echocardiology Department, which includes Echocardiograms, vascular work, transesophageal echo, pacemaker analysis and exercise echo
  • You will perform two-dimensional ultrasonic recordings for diagnosis of cardiac disease.
  • You must have a working knowledge of stress testing and as it relates to the Echocardiology department. Either exercise stress or pharmacological stress
  • You will participate in PI activities.
  • You will assist with stress testing and other non-invasive cardio diagnostic testing.
  • You will assist with other non-invasive cardo diagnostic testing.
What qualifications will you need:
  • Degree in ultrasound technology (Cardiac sonography preferred)
  • 3-5 years experience as a Cardiac Sonographer required
  • Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, or Registered Cardiac Sonographer
