Job summary

Missouri Baptist Medical Center, a Magnet-designated acute care hospital in St. Louis County, invites applications for a Cardiac Sonographer within the Cardiac Testing department.

This role offers a $3,750 sign-on bonus (for eligible applicants), 8-hour shifts across three days per week (7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.), and two weekend days every 6 weeks. On-call and holiday rotations are required, with RDCS or equivalent certification preferred. Benefits eligible.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required.

• Supervisor Experience: No Experience.
• Licenses & Certifications: RDCS or equiv.
• Preferred: Associate's Degree in Allied Health/Sonography.
• Experience: <2 years preferred; not required.

Responsibilities

• Performs tests and procedures at various locations.
• Maintains accurate patient logs.
• Updates daily charges in the computer, utilizes cardiac lab menus in the computer.
• Maintains cardiac lab patient files.

Overview

Missouri Baptist Medical Center, an acute care hospital in St. Louis County, offers a full continuum of medical and surgical services, including heart care, cancer, women and infants, breast health, gastrointestinal, orthopedic, stroke, therapy, wound and pain management services. The hospital has a 24-hour adult emergency department and cares for pediatric patients at a separate emergency department in collaboration with St. Louis Children’s Hospital.

The Missouri Baptist Medical Center Cardiac Testing department is a diagnostic testing center which focuses on identifying and evaluating cardiac disease processes. The department is comprised of RNs, cardiac sonographers, ECG techs, Nuclear Medicine technologists and administrative staff. The Cardiac Testing staff works in collaboration with Cardiologists to deliver high quality services to patients and their physicians.

Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose

The Cardiac Sonographer performs a variety of cardiac testing, including treadmill stress testing, holter monitoring, transthoracic echocardiography, transesophageal echo, stress echo and cardiac doppler.

Responsibilities

• Performs tests and procedures at various locations.
• Maintains accurate patient logs.
• Updates daily charges in the computer, utilizes cardiac lab menus in the computer.
• Maintains cardiac lab patient files.
