Additional Information About the Role

BJC HealthCare System is hiring a Full-Time Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) for The Heart Care Institute (1020 N Mason Rd., St. Louis, MO).

$7,500 Sign-on Bonus for eligible candidates!
Newly approved increased compensation package now available.

Position Details:

• Day shift hours: Mon-Fri, 7:30am-4pm
• No weekends or holidays
• Echo schedule consists of 60-90 min slots per patient, with 6-8 echos per day on average
• Outpatient setting
• Works closely with cardiologists and echo readers
• Handles high acuity cases, including pre/post heart transplant, LVAD, valvular cases
• Uniforms provided

• Associate's Degree or Trade School equivalency
• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS)

Experience:

Overview

The Washington University Heart Care Institute offers outpatient services including cardiac catheterization, diagnostic services, cardiac rehab, and wellness programs. Located in Creve Coeur, the facility operates Monday through Friday, with services closed on weekends and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose:

The Cardiac Diagnostic Laboratory provides advanced echocardiographic imaging in an IAC-accredited lab, supporting diagnosis and treatment of complex cardiac conditions, including transplants, LVADs, valvular repairs, and congenital abnormalities. Testing includes transthoracic, transesophageal, and stress echocardiography.

Responsibilities:

1. Perform complex echocardiography exams across campus.
2. Evaluate clinical assessments for cardiac conditions and abnormalities.
3. Review patient history and apply clinical judgment during exams.
4. Acquire advanced imaging modalities as trained.
5. Communicate with healthcare team, review images, and contribute to preliminary findings.

Minimum Requirements:

• Associate degree or equivalent from trade school
• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS)

Preferred Requirements:

• No prior experience necessary

Additional Certifications:

• CPR certification
