Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island is seeking a Cardiac/Vascular Sonographer to join our Lake Success team. You will perform comprehensive cardiac and vascular ultrasound exams, including echocardiograms, treadmill and pharmacological stress studies, and duplex vascular work.

The role requires adherence to NYU protocols and IAC/ACR standards, patient-centered communication, and accurate documentation of scans and preliminary reports.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or accredited program in cardiac/vascular ultrasound.
• RDCS and RVT or RCS and RVS credentials; obtain second credential within one year.
• BLS certification is required.
• Active registry status is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs all cardiac ultrasound studies including echocardiograms and stress echocardiograms.
• Performs all vascular ultrasound studies including carotid and duplex studies.
• Adheres to NYU protocols and IAC/ACR standards in all studies.
• Ensures patient comfort, explains procedures, and verifies patient identity.
• Creates preliminary reports and documents scans and data accurately.
• Uses high-technology equipment and alerts staff to abnormalities.

Education

Associate's degree in a related field or completion of an accredited program in cardiac and vascular ultrasound

RDCS and RVT or RCS and RVS credentials; ability to obtain the second within one year

BLS certification
