Job summary

Holy-Cross-Medical-Center in Taos, NM seeks a Cardiac Sonographer Lead to oversee a team of cardiac sonographers, provide clinical expertise, and ensure quality patient care during echocardiography procedures.

You will mentor and train staff, manage scheduling, quality assurance, and protocol adherence within the cardiac imaging department, while collaborating with physicians to optimize patient outcomes and imaging workflows. This role requires strong leadership and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of experience in Cardiac Sonography.
• Proficient in PACS and EMR.
• Five (5) years’ knowledge of Medical Records and Registration requirements.
• Current NM licensure in Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy or as applicable.
• RDCS and/or CCI certification; BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a team of cardiac sonographers and provide clinical expertise.
• Ensure quality patient care during echocardiography procedures.
• Lead staff development by mentoring and training.

Job description

The Cardiac Sonographer Lead position is responsible for overseeing a team of cardiac sonographers, providing clinical expertise, ensuring quality patient care during echocardiography procedures, and leading staff development by mentoring and training while also managing administrative tasks like scheduling, quality assurance, and protocol adherence within the cardiac imaging department.

Experience:

• A minimum of five (5) years of experience in Cardiac Sonography
• Proficient in Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) and Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
• Five (5) years’ knowledge of Medical Record and Registration requirements

Education:

• Associate’s Degree from an accredited school or college program in Cardiac Sonography

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:

• Current State of New Mexico Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Program Licensure (NMMIRT)
• American Registry for Diagnostics Medical Sonography (RDCS) and/or
• Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
• Basic Life Support (BLS)

Preferred qualifications

• Five (5) years experience as a Cardiac Sonographer
• Bachelor Degree or further education in a related discipline
