Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Cardiac Sonography.
• Proficient in PACS and EMR systems.
• Experience with medical records and registration requirements.
• Licensure/certifications: NM MIRT, RDCS and/or CCI; BLS.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a team of cardiac sonographers and provide clinical leadership.
• Ensure high-quality patient care during echocardiography procedures.
• Mentor and train staff; manage scheduling and staffing needs.

Job description

The Cardiac Sonographer Lead position is responsible for overseeing a team of cardiac sonographers, providing clinical expertise, ensuring quality patient care during echocardiography procedures, and leading staff development by mentoring and training while also managing administrative tasks like scheduling, quality assurance, and protocol adherence within the cardiac imaging department.

Experience:

• A minimum of five (5) years of experience in Cardiac Sonography
• Proficient in Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) and Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
• Five (5) years’ knowledge of Medical Record and Registration requirements

Education:

• Associate’s Degree from an accredited school or college program in Cardiac Sonography

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:

• Current State of New Mexico Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Program Licensure (NMMIRT)
• American Registry for Diagnostics Medical Sonography (RDCS) and/or
• Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
• Basic Life Support (BLS)

Preferred qualifications

• Five (5) years experience as a Cardiac Sonographer
• Bachelor Degree or further education in a related discipline
