Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Per Diem Cardiac Sonographer to perform cardiac ultrasound exams and provide diagnostic information to clinicians. The role primarily covers weekend shifts, with some weekday/evening coverage as needed.

Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy and pathophysiology, plus ARDMS RDCS registration, is required. Candidates should have an associate degree or cardiac sonography certificate and be proficient with computer systems and patient scheduling.

Position Function

Performs cardiac ultrasound examinations as ordered by physicians and synthesizes information related to the patients' medical problems.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education:
• Requires Associate Degree in Science/Cardiac Sonography or certificate in cardiac sonography
• Licensure/Certifications:
• Active ARDMS RDCS registration required
• BLS/CPR Certification required
• Minimum Experience:
• 2-3 years' experience required
• Knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and pathology either through college level courses in biology and anatomy and/or relevant acquired experience

Other Skills Required

• Experience with computer systems required, including web based applications and some Microsoft Office applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access
• Ability to rely on experience, judgment and time management skills to plan and accomplish goals
• Ability to work cooperatively with members of the healthcare delivery team and staff, ability to handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedule; to set priorities and solve problems; to respond quickly to emergency requests

Pay Range

$46.00 - $61.91

The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
