Job summary

UofL Health is seeking a Cardiac Sonographer in Louisville, KY to perform comprehensive echocardiography for adult, geriatric, and neonatal patients, ensuring high-quality imaging and patient-friendly care.

The role requires an Associate Degree or Cardiac Sonography certificate, 1 year of echocardiography experience, and registry within six months, with BLS certification. You will support departmental goals while upholding HIPAA and patient confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or certificate in Cardiac Sonography from an accredited program.
• 1 year echocardiography experience or equivalent (required).
• Cardiac Sonographer registry required within six months of employment (ARDMS or CCI) (required).
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (required).

Responsibilities

• Performs transthoracic echocardiograms (2D, 3D, M‑Mode, Doppler, Color Flow, Strain).
• Performs stress echocardiograms and contrast enhanced echocardiograms.
• Assists with transesophageal echocardiograms (depending on facility).
• Provides patient, family, hospital staff and physician education.
