Job summary

Tufts Medicine is seeking a Cardiac Sonographer for Tufts Medical Center in Boston to perform comprehensive echocardiography using m-mode, 2-D, 3-D and Doppler techniques under supervision, with a focus on quality and patient care.

Under the direction of the clinical leader, you will interpret and record findings, assist in image acquisition, and contribute to research data, training, and equipment maintenance in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Radiology or related field is required.
• ARDMS or CCI certification required.
• BLS certification required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Two years clinical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs cardiac ultrasound examinations using m-mode, 2-D, 3-D, and Doppler.
• Gives preliminary interpretation of study results to cardiologist.
• Performs echocardiograms in various labs and settings.
• Assists physicians in obtaining transesophageal, intraoperative, and three-dimensional studies.
• Maintains equipment and follows infection control practices.
• Prepares patient and explains procedures and collects relevant data.
• Obtains permanent video/digital recordings and tracings.
• Acquires measurements and analyzes data for cardiac function.
• Ensures tests are officially read by cardiologist and contributes to reports.
• Participates in quality control and maintains documentation for review.
• Assists in training new sonographers and interns.
