Job summary

OhioHealth is seeking a part-time casual Cardiac Sonographer to perform ultrasound imaging and echocardiograms, with responsibilities across imaging, reporting, and QA. The role supports the Echocardiology Department in a high-reliability health system environment.

Applicants should have at least a two-year allied health program, BLS certification, and RDCS/RCS eligibility with registration within 12 months of hire. Day shift, as needed schedule.

Qualifications

  • Two-year allied health program completed (sonography, radiology, respiratory therapy, occupational therapy, or RN).
  • BLS certification required (American Heart Association).
  • Registered (RDCS or RCS) or registry-eligible with registration within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Perform ultrasound imaging including echocardiograms and vascular studies.
  • Prepare required reports and ensure accuracy of patient data.
  • Maintain and file patient records and study documentation.
  • Maintain ultrasound equipment and provide necessary statistics.
  • Answer phones to schedule procedures and relay information.
  • Review echocardiogram results with physicians and participate in QA activities.

Job Description Summary

Part-time casual Cardiac Sonographer, hours ranging between 7am-5pm Monday-Friday.

Responsible for performing diagnostic tests, such as echocardiograms, vascular studies, and follow-up paperwork for each procedure. Displays caring, courteous behavior in dealing with patients and their families, coworkers, physicians, and guests of the hospital.

Responsibilities And Duties
  • 50% Performs ultrasound imaging.
  • 20% Prepares required reports.
  • 10% Maintains files.
  • 10% Maintains equipment. Provides needed statistics.
  • 5% Handles telephone to schedule and provide information.
  • 5% Reviews results of echocardiogram with physicians and performs quality assurance activities.

Minimum Qualifications
