Job summary

OhioHealth in Ohio is seeking a part-time Cardiac Sonographer in the Echocardiology Department. The role involves performing diagnostic tests such as echocardiograms and vascular studies, and handling follow-up paperwork, with hours typically 7am-5pm, Monday through Friday.

The candidate will display compassionate patient care, work with physicians and staff, and adhere to safety and quality standards in a high reliability organization. BLS is required, and registry eligibility is considered.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• BLS certification is required.
• Completion of a two-year allied health program is required, with RDCS or RCS registry (or eligibility) within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform ultrasound imaging including echocardiograms.
• Prepare the required reports for each procedure.
• Maintain patient files and related documentation.
• Maintain and operate ultrasound equipment and provide statistics as needed.
• Answer calls to schedule appointments and provide information.
• Review echocardiogram results with physicians and participate in QA activities.

Job Description Summary

Part-time casual Cardiac Sonographer, hours ranging between 7am-5pm Monday-Friday. Responsible for performing diagnostic tests, such as echocardiograms, vascular studies, and follow-up paperwork for each procedure. Displays caring, courteous behavior in dealing with patients and their families, coworkers, physicians, and guests of the hospital.

Responsibilities And Duties

• 50% Performs ultrasound imaging.
• 20% Prepares required reports.
• 10% Maintains files.
• 10% Maintains equipment. Provides needed statistics.
• 5% Handles telephone to schedule and provide information.
• 5% Reviews results of echocardiogram with physicians and performs quality assurance activities.

As a High Reliability Organization (HRO), responsibilities require focus on safety, quality and efficiency in performing job duties.

Additional Job Description

Minimum in a two year allied, patient related healthcare program (i.e., sonography, radiology, respiratory therapy, occupational therapy, or RN) AND either registered (RDCS or RCS) or registry eligible (RDCS or RCS) with registry obtained within 12 months of hire. BLS Certification.
