Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a skilled Cardiac Sonographer to perform comprehensive echocardiography, including transesophageal studies, in our Sacramento area facilities. You will support multiple sites, handle complex pediatric exams, and assist in intraoperative settings, while ensuring patient privacy and accurate interpretation.

The role demands strong collaboration with cardiology teams, adherence to standards, and reliable scheduling across day shifts with potential weekend coverage.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited Cardiac Sonography Program OR graduation from an accredited formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program or equivalent education that meets the credentialing requirement pathway
  • RCS (CCI)-Registered Cardiac Sonographer OR ARDMS (RDCS AE for adult or RDCS PE for pediatric)
  • BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider
  • Level I: No experience required
  • Level II: Minimum of 2 years of experience
  • Intermediate knowledge of diagnostic cardiac sonography principles, procedures, and views
  • Knowledge of operation and maintenance of imaging equipment
  • Experience responding to traumas and various hospital emergencies
  • Proficient in cardiac sonographic examinations
  • Understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Time management and organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Working knowledge of RIS, LIS, EHR, EPIC, and PACS
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to ensure patient PHI privacy
  • Full-time availability for 40 weekly hours, day shift, variable days, and weekend work as needed

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic cardiac sonography procedures to assess cardiac structures and hemodynamics
  • Perform commonly conducted echocardiography procedures with a high level of competence
  • Perform transesophageal echocardiograms with or without three-dimensional imaging
  • Perform intraoperative transesophageal echocardiograms
  • Perform structural heart procedures in the cardiac Cath lab
  • Perform complex congenital pediatric echocardiograms
  • Float and support multiple sites
  • Perform specific procedures as assigned
  • Orient other staff to the department when needed
  • Recognize, prioritize, and communicate suspicious or abnormal results
  • Prioritize assignments and meet deadlines within standardized policies, procedures, and scientific methods
  • Identify, evaluate, and resolve standard problems using established options
  • Collaborate with peers and healthcare providers to achieve departmental and corporate objectives
