Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a skilled Cardiac Sonographer to perform Transthoracic, Transesophageal and stress echocardiography on adult and pediatric patients, ensuring high-quality studies and accurate documentation.

The role requires ARDMS/CCI registration, BLS, and the ability to support physicians, manage imaging reporting, and participate in ICAEL-related QA activities on a Monday–Friday 2nd shift.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Cardiovascular Technology program or equivalent
  • Minimum of high school graduate or equivalent; in-house training may count as equivalent for testing
  • Minimum 1 year experience in Cardiac Ultrasound preferred; registry required: RDCS or RDCS/CCCI
  • BLS required; knowledge of insurance codes, cardiology procedures, and required paperwork

Responsibilities

  • Provide patient-centered, high-quality Transthoracic, Transesophageal, and Stress Echo exams
  • Provide the total patient exam experience according to echocardiography policies and procedures
  • Assist physicians during appropriate examinations
  • Complete ACC annual department and hospital-wide competency requirements
  • Assist with gathering and recording QA/PI information for ICAEL Accreditation
  • Maintain professional development through in-services and/or continuing medical education
  • Maintain cleanliness of workspace and equipment and restock supplies
  • Cross-train to assist with EKGs, holter monitor and event monitor placement, and stress testing
  • Process echo images and documentation into the echo structured reporting system
  • Maintain equipment and secure repairs at the direction of the Manager of Cardiology
  • Perform duties primarily Monday-Friday on the 2nd shift

Job description

Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited/approved Cardiovascular Technology program or equivalent
  • Minimum of high school graduate or equivalent
  • In-house training and completion of Ultrasound Technologist Workshop may serve as an equivalent for those grandfathered to test for CCI or ARDMS registry
  • Minimum 1 year experience in Cardiac Ultrasound preferred
  • Registry required: Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) through Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) through American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)
  • BLS required
  • Knowledge of insurance codes, cardiology procedures, and required paperwork
  • Ability to process echo images and documentation into the echo structured reporting system
  • Ability to perform Transthoracic Adult and Pediatric, Transesophageal, and Stress Echo exams using M-mode, two-dimensional, and Doppler modalities
  • Ability to assist with EKGs, holter monitors, event monitors, and stress testing
  • Ability to meet physical requirements, including manipulating probes and equipment, repositioning and transporting patients, lifting supplies up to 10 lbs, and pushing echo equipment approximately 440+ lbs
