Job summary

Emanate Health is seeking a Monitor Tech to observe and interpret patients' cardiac rhythms and respond to alarms. The role includes greeting staff, transcribing orders, and handling admission/discharge activities at the nurses' station.

Responsibilities include informing RNs of variances, coordinating non-clinical tasks, and assisting with medication handoffs from pharmacy or tube stations as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Unit Secretarial course preferred.
• EKG interpretation class required.
• Prior unit secretary experience preferred; excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• The monitor tech observes and interprets patients' cardiac rhythm status and listens for alarms.
• Informs the RN of variances to initiate examination of the patient.
• Greet people at the nurses' station and answer questions or refer to staff.
• Transcribes medical orders.
• Performs unit-based non-clinical duties related to admission, discharge and transfer.
• Organizes activities at the nurses' station.
• Accepts patient medications from pharmacy or tube station and gives to the charge nurse or assigned nurse.
