Job summary

Emanate Health in Covina, CA seeks a Monitor Tech / Unit Secretary to observe and interpret cardiac rhythms, respond to alarms, and relay variances to RNs for prompt assessment. You will greet patients at the nurses' station and guide them to the appropriate staff while handling non-clinical duties related to admission, discharge and transfers.

The role requires a high school diploma, knowledge of medical terminology, EKG interpretation, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Knowledge of medical terminology strongly preferred.
Unit Secretarial course preferred.
EKG interpretation class required.
Prior unit secretary experience preferred.
Excellent customer service skills required.
Assaultive Behavior Training required within 30 days (AB508/SB1299).

Responsibilities

Observe and interpret patients' cardiac rhythm status and respond to alarms.
Inform the RN of variances to initiate examination of the patient.
Greet people at the nurses' station and direct them to appropriate staff.
Transcribe medical orders accurately.
Perform unit-based non-clinical duties related to admission, discharge and transfer.
Organize activities at the nurses' station and assist with workflow.
