Wilson Health in Sidney, Ohio is hiring a direct hire Unit Secretary/HUC for the Cardiopulmonary Services Department. This full-time role supports department operations, coordinates scheduling, processes diagnostic reports, and communicates with patients, providers, and staff.

The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, customer-focused, and able to maintain patient confidentiality while complying with hospital policies.

Qualifications

• Certificate from a college or technical school preferred; or 3–6 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Familiarity with medical terminology.
• Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office applications.
• Typing speed of at least 60 words per minute.
• Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
• Ability to perform basic statistical analysis and maintain accurate records.
• Ability to coordinate multiple priorities and activities simultaneously.
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply policies, procedures, and written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Answer department telephones, retrieve documents, assist with physician billing, and schedule diagnostic procedures.
• Coordinate and liaise between physicians, caregivers, and staff regarding EKG Management System and EMR.
• Process and distribute diagnostic reports in a timely and accurate manner.
• Assist with department payroll and staff scheduling activities.
• Support productivity management through statistical tracking, analysis, and reporting.
• Manage department supplies, including ordering, receiving, stocking, and inventory control.
• Process daily patient charges and maintain accurate records.
• Assist with patient preparation for diagnostic procedures.
• Perform EKGs as needed.
• Maintain, organize, and reproduce departmental and patient documentation.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, providers, staff, and external agencies.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with hospital policies, procedures, and safety standards.
• Perform additional duties as assigned within the scope of responsibility.
