Job summary

Wilson Health in Sidney, OH, is hiring a Medical-Surgical Telemetry Health Unit Coordinator/Patient Care Technician to support a 23-bed unit. The role involves coordinating patient info, orders, and supplies, and delivering essential care under RN supervision.

Ideal candidates have a GED or higher, Nurse Aide training, and a current BLS certification, with strong English communication and interpersonal skills. PRN with variable shifts, reporting to the Acute Care Nurse Manager.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Completion of an approved Nurse Aide Training & Competency Evaluation Program.
• Ability to read and communicate effectively in English with strong interpersonal skills.
• Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).

Responsibilities

• Enter patient information and physician orders into the computer to ensure continuity of care.
• Assist with coordinating unit activity and ensuring supplies are available for patient care.
• Maintain open and timely communication with patients, families, and team members to support therapeutic interventions.
• Assist RN/LPN in meeting physical and emotional patient needs on the assigned unit.
• Carry out assigned treatments and procedures under supervision.

This unit is where patients receive active but short-term treatment for a server injury or episode of illness, an urgent medical condition, or during recovery from surgery. Job Summary:The Medical-Surgical Telemetry Health Unit Coordinator (HUC)/Patient Care Technician (PCT) prepares and compiles records in nursing unit of hospital facility and provides essential patient care under direction of Registered Nurse. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the computer entry of patient information/registration and physician orders to ensure continuity of care.
• Assist with the coordination of activities of the unit and ensures the necessary supplies are available to provide patient care.
• Assure opens and timely communication with the patient, their significant others and team members to ensure the occurrence of therapeutic interventions.
• Under direction of the RN/LPN, assists in meeting the physical and emotional needs of the patient on his/her assigned unit. The patient population would include: the young-middle aged adult patient, and the geriatric patient.
• Under the direction of the RN/LPN, carry out assigned treatments and procedures.
• The HUC/PCT shall provide care based on ethical concepts, respect for life, dignity, human worth and the individuality of human beings.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Successfully completed an approved Nurse Aide Training and Competency Evaluation Program; or three to six months related hospital experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Ability to read and communicate effectively in English with strong interpersonal skills.
• Current certification in Basic Life Support
