Job summary

Allina Health is a not-for-profit health system serving Minnesota and western Wisconsin. The Cardiac Rehabilitation Therapist will implement exercise-based programs, educate families, and coordinate care for patients with cardiac disease across multiple sites in the Twin Cities metro area.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology, Nursing, or Occupational Therapy, with a Master’s preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology, Nursing, or Occupational Therapy.
• Master’s degree in one of these fields preferred.
• 1 year of experience in cardiac rehabilitation (inpatient and outpatient preferred).
• Licensed Registered Nurse in MN if hired as RN.
• ACLS and BLS certification from AHA or Red Cross or Allina in-house ACLS training within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Implements programs to modify cardiovascular risk factors through exercise training, education and counseling.
• Designs and implements individualized exercise plans for each patient.
• Assesses health status and monitors progress during sessions.
• Coordinates coverage for inpatient and outpatient cardiac rehab programs across multiple sites.
• Collaborates with physicians and health professionals on patient care and program development.
• Educates patients and families on home exercises and activity plans.
