Job summary

Baylor Scott & White The Heart Hospital Plano is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our acute care team. You will evaluate and treat patients recovering from cardiac surgeries, heart failure and other cardiovascular conditions to improve functional independence and quality of life.

The role requires acute care experience and collaboration with patients, families and the cardiovascular care team to meet treatment goals.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent.
• Less than 1 year of related experience.
• BLS certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates, treats and monitors patients and adjusts therapy goals.
• Documents clinical practice and enters charges accurately.
• Communicates with patients, families, coworkers and the care team.
• Supervises ancillary staff, students and volunteers.
• Advances clinical skills through ongoing education and evidence-based practice.
