Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking an Exercise Physiologist to plan, coordinate, and evaluate exercise and educational components of cardiac rehabilitation for inpatients and outpatients.

The role requires BLS and ACLS within 90 days, strong communication with the care team, and the ability to educate patients on the plan of care. No prior experience is required, but a Bachelor’s in a related field is required, with a Master’s preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, Exercise Science or related field of study.
• Master’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promotes a positive work environment and collaborates with all members of the patient care team by actively communicating and reporting pertinent patient care information.
• Delivers high quality patient care as outlined in the patient’s care plan, putting the patient’s needs above all by providing a nurturing environment and clear guidance to achieve a positive outcome.
• Provides instruction and educational material to cardiac rehab patients and facilitates transitions from inpatient to outpatient cardiac rehabilitation.
