Job summary

Orion Medical in Houston, TX is seeking a Cardiac Exercise Technician to join our Intensive Cardiac Rehabilitation program. The Exercise Physiologist collaborates with physicians, nurses, and dietitians to deliver exercise prescriptions, education, and cardiovascular risk reduction while ensuring high-quality, safe patient care.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a related health science, BLS certification, and ACLS within 6 months, plus at least one year of cardiac rehab experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology, Clinical Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or related health science field.
• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
• Minimum of one year of experience in cardiac rehabilitation, intensive cardiac rehabilitation, preventive cardiology, or closely related cardiovascular services.
• Maintain ACLS certification within 6 months of hire.
• Preferred: Master's degree, ACSM-EP/CEP or CCRP certifications.
• Experience with AACVPR or CMS Intensive Cardiac Rehabilitation programs (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and develop individualized exercise prescriptions.
• Monitor telemetry during exercise and document responses.
• Provide patient education on cardiovascular disease management and risk reduction strategies.
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and dietitians on treatment plans.
• Ensure program compliance with CMS, AACVPR, Joint Commission and organizational requirements.
