Job summary

Atrium Health Cardiac Rehabilitation in Charlotte, NC seeks an Exercise Physiologist to join a multidisciplinary team. You will perform and coordinate diagnostic stress testing, provide exercise prescriptions, patient education, and risk-factor modification to support recovery and long-term cardiovascular health.

Requirements include a Bachelor's in Exercise Physiology, ACSM-CEP or eligibility, BLS, ACLS within 6 months, and 1 year of related experience; Master's preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology required.
• Master's degree in Exercise Physiology preferred.
• ACSM-CEP certified or eligible to test.
• BLS for Healthcare Provider (AHA) required.
• ACLS required within 6 months of hire.
• One year of related experience preferred.
• Stress testing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and perform exercise and/or pharmacological stress testing per ACSM/AHA/ACC guidelines.
• Assess contraindications for cardiac stress testing via medical records.
• Explain procedure, verify order, and confirm patient identity.
• Assist with transferring patients and positioning for safety and performance.
• Recognize ECG changes and arrhythmias pre-, during, and post-test.
• Communicate abnormal results to physician and staff.
• Respond to emergencies promptly.
• May cross-train with related staff.
