Job summary

Atrium Health Cardiac Rehabilitation is seeking an Exercise Physiologist to support four Cardiac Rehab locations in the Charlotte, NC region. You will coordinate and perform exercise stress tests, assess patient suitability, and educate patients on risk factor modification as part of a multidisciplinary team.

The role requires ACSM-CEP certification or eligibility, BLS, ACLS within 6 months, and a minimum of one year of related experience.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology required
Master’s degree in Exercise Physiology preferred
ACSM CEP certification or eligible to test required; ACLS within 6 months of hire
BLS for Healthcare Providers required; stress testing experience preferred
One year of related experience preferred

Responsibilities

Coordinate and perform exercise and pharmacological stress testing per ACSM/AHA/ACC guidelines
Assess contraindications by reviewing current health data and coordinating with Cardiologist
Explain procedures, verify orders, and ensure patient identity
Assist with transferring patients and adapt positioning for safety and performance
Recognize ECG changes and respond to abnormal results promptly
Communicate findings to physicians and clinical staff; respond to emergencies
Cross-train with related staff as needed
