Job summary

Carle Health seeks an Exercise Physiologist to oversee outpatient cardiac rehab and perform non-invasive cardiovascular exams. The role requires BLS certification within 30 days and a related Bachelor's degree.

You will develop and evaluate phase II/III exercise programs while collaborating with the care team to ensure comprehensive post-operative care. The position involves patient education, EMR documentation, scheduling, and coordinating care plans with nurses and physicians.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 30 days (AHA).
• Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.

Responsibilities

• Develops, implements, and evaluates exercise programs for cardiac rehab patients in phase II and III.
• Collaborates with the care team to ensure continuity of care post-op and post-hospitalization.
• Monitors and revises the care plan with RN and physician input.
• Provides patient education and documentation of exercise progression and vital responses.
• Assists with scheduling, billing, and EMR reporting for rehab services.
• Precepts students in nursing, exercise physiology and nutrition.
• Schedules initial visits and conducts patient assessments.
• Coordinates care plans and telemetry monitoring during exercise sessions.
• Leads exercise prescriptions and supports risk factor modification.
