Job summary

Banner Health in Phoenix, AZ, is hiring for a Cardiac Rehab Specialist to provide assessment, treatment and education for cardiac and pulmonary patients in outpatient/inpatient rehab settings. The role writes exercise prescriptions to progress patients through phase two and three programs, with 4 ten-hour shifts and potential weekend work.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology or related field, 300+ internship hours in cardiac rehab, and BLS; ACLS preferred.

Qualifications

Requires Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology or related field and 300+ hour internship in cardiac rehabilitation.
BLS certification is required.
ACLS certification preferred.
Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills; ability to educate patients and families.

Responsibilities

Evaluates patients’ functional abilities and develops a plan of care with exercise goals as directed by physicians.
Implements individualized exercise plans based on patients’ needs and advances plans as appropriate.
Educates patients and families on post-cardiac discharge guidelines and home exercise programs.
Documents patient treatment in accordance with professional and regulatory standards.
Maintains safety and quality control, troubleshooting equipment and ensuring a safe environment.
