Job summary

Banner Health is seeking a Clinical Exercise Physiologist at BUMC Tucson for inpatient and outpatient cardiac/pulmonary rehab. You will assess patients, write exercise prescriptions, monitor vitals and ECG, and educate on lifestyle changes to promote recovery and long-term wellness.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Exercise Physiology, a 300+ hour internship in cardiac rehab, and BLS. A Master's degree and ACLS are preferred; strong teamwork and patient education are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology or related field.
• 300+ hour internship in cardiac rehabilitation or equivalent clinical hours.
• Knowledge of cardiac/pulmonary physiology and chronic disease management.
• Ability to collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams.
• BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients’ functional abilities and set exercise goals with physician input.
• Develop and progress individualized exercise prescriptions for cardiac/pulmonary rehab.
• Educate patients and families on lifestyle change and post-discharge care.
• Document treatment plans and monitor safety, vitals, and ECG findings.
• Maintain safe environment and adhere to policies and confidentiality.
• Support the care team and participate in program development as needed.
• Follow up with patients across inpatient and outpatient phases of rehab.
