Job summary

The University of Minnesota is seeking a post-doctoral associate/research scientist to advance cardiovascular disease modeling and cardiac regeneration using human induced pluripotent stem cell–derived cardiac cells and engineered tissues. You will lead experiments, analyze data, and contribute to manuscripts while supervising junior trainees.

The position is for one year with possible extensions; visa sponsorship and relocation assistance are not available.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in biomedical fields including stem cell biology, molecular biology, genomics, biomedical engineering, biochemistry.
  • Experience contributing to writing papers and grants.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with junior trainees.
  • Experience with gene-editing using CRISPR/Cas9 tools.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct experimental research on hypertrophic cardiomyopathies using monolayer and engineered tissues.
  • Analyze data, review literature, and determine next steps for projects.
  • Prepare manuscripts and grant proposals; present findings at meetings.
  • Supervise and mentor trainees; assist with lab maintenance and ordering.
