Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System seeks a Clinical Nurse (RN) for the 62 Medical Progressive Care unit in Kansas City, KS. You will provide professional nursing care, document assessments, plan and evaluate care, and collaborate with patients, families and health care providers to ensure quality outcomes.

Preferred candidates hold a BSN or will complete BSN within five years for ADN-hired staff; licensure is required (Kansas RN or compact) with BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate required.
• ADN nursing degree required with BSN completion within five years for ADN-hired staff.
• 6 months to 2 years experience as a Clinical Nurse on a medical progressive care unit.
• Current Kansas RN license (or compact) and BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care including assessment, documentation, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Coordinate care delivery and education with patients, families and health care team.
• Follow organizational policies to ensure safe patient care.
• Work on Unit 62 – Medical Progressive Care with advanced monitoring and collaborative care.
