Job summary
Summa Health System – Akron Campus seeks an RN for the 5W Cardiac Progressive Care Unit. The role is full‑time, 36 hrs/week, 7a-7:30p, with every other weekend and holiday. The unit specializes in congestive heart failure, with a 32-bed size and a 1:4 to 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio.

Qualifications
- PRN RNs must have at least one year of recent experience in the area.
- One year of related RN experience is required for weekend option positions.
- ACLS certification within six months of hire for critical care areas; ACLS may be required at hire for experienced RNs.
- BLS certification is required; ongoing certification must be maintained.
Responsibilities
- Provide, coordinate and/or delegate nursing care for cardiac patients.
- Utilize nursing judgment based on knowledge and evidence-based practice.
- Monitor patient conditions and respond to changes in status.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to manage resources and ensure quality care.
