Job summary

Advocate Health in the United States is seeking a part-time Nursing Assistant to support the Cardiac Services: Interventional team in Grafton. You will assist with daily patient care, transport, and basic monitoring, under supervision of RNs, with shifts starting as early as 5:30 AM and ending by 6:00 PM.

Requirements include High School Graduate, 2 years acute patient care experience preferred, and BLS within 6 months. Must communicate in English and have basic computer skills.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required within 6 months if required by department
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to read and write in English; good keyboarding/computer skills

Responsibilities

• Assists RN with daily patient care (bathing, grooming, feeding) and basic cleaning
• Performs patient data collection (BP, temp, pulse, respiration, I&O) and reports observations to RN
• Performs advanced patient care tasks as delegated (ECG, IV site care, arterial blood sampling)
• Monitors patient status and communicates with RN during changes or emergencies
• Prepares rooms for admission/discharge and assists with transport and positioning
• Performs post-mortem care as needed and adheres to age-specific care requirements
